Planwell Financial Group renders a suite of financial services spanning insurance brokerage, personal and corporate finance, as well as project finance and infrastructure advisory services to our clients. The inspiration of our founders in establishing the Group derived from their desire to play leading roles in helping to develop certain key areas of the Ghanaian economy lagging behind. Ghana’s insurance penetration rate of ca 1% is significantly lower than the global average and the need to work with insurance underwriters and other industry partners in growing the market cannot be overemphasised. Insurance aside, the general level of financial literacy among individuals and some corporate entities leaves much to be desired. The financial crises which engulfed microfinance institutions, the banking sector, and the financial services sector in general in the not too distant past which compelled the Bank of Ghana and Securities and Exchange Commission to clamp down on some of the financial institutions attest to this low financial literacy level and there is the need to play a leading role in working with all comers to improve upon the general level of financial fitness. Further, the skillset for project finance and/or infrastructure development is still nascent in Ghana. Many unsuspecting project sponsors have burnt their fingers and got stuck on the way having begun their project development without full knowledge of the exacting demands involved. There is therefore a gap that needs to be filled in terms of the advisory services in that segment of the Ghanaian economy. These have informed the Vision and Mission of our founders.
